Drew Luchies is a Partner of Robertson, Eadie & Associates. He has been with the firm since August 2004.  Drew graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honours BMath degree in Actuarial Science and Statistics (Co-Operative Program) in 2004, earning Dean’s list honours.  He is a Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.

In his current role at Robertson, Eadie & Associates, Drew is primarily responsible for the interpretation and implementation of actuarial and accounting standards of practice and provincial and federal pension legislation. Drew is involved in all aspects of pension consulting, including the design, implementation and administration of defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans. He assists clients in the establishment of investment and funding policies and in the development of governance structures. He also has experience with supplemental executive retirement plans and the wind-up of existing pension plans.  He has extensive valuation experience.

Drew is the chair of the Society of Actuaries Pension Section Continuing Education Committee.  In this role, he reviews, coordinates and creates content for continuing education requirements of the Society of Actuaries; as well as, participating as a member of the Society of Actuaries Pension Section Council.  Drew has been a volunteer for the Pension Section Continuing Education Committee since 2012.  Previously, Drew served in a similar role for an Independent Actuaries Networking group in the greater Toronto area.

In previous volunteer activity with the Education and Examination Committee, Drew was part of a working group developing a pension specific case study for candidates pursuing a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst designation.  He also assisted in the development of the Society of Actuaries’ Fundamentals of Actuarial Practice course and graded project submissions of associate candidates to the Society of Actuaries.

Drew has been a frequent public speaker and has made presentations to pension committees and to employee groups on various pension matters including plan conversion, governance, accounting and funding issues.
